5 Ways to Update Your Entryway this Spring

‘Tis the season of spring cleaning, re-decorating, and brightening up your space. As you consider where to start, keep in mind your front door is the first impression of your home. Keep it on trend with these five tips:

1) Wipe it all Down: Before you can even think of adding new décor, you should clean the entryway first. Use mild soap, water, and a rag to wipe down your door, lockset, and trim. Then, sweep away the exterior footpath to clear away dirt and debris. Now, your space is in good shape and ready for an update. (Pro-tip: cleaning your lockset ensures it lasts longer and performs better, keeping you safe. Learn more here).

2) Add a Fresh Coat of Paint: Whether you opt for the same color or decide to change it up, consider adding a fresh coat of paint. Not only will this make your home feel new again, but it will provide added curb appeal. Don’t forget to make sure your door hardware and paint pair well for a cohesive look. For door hardware finish options check out our page here.

3) Lighting is Key: Make your home feel welcoming day and night by adding lanterns, sconces, or solar powered lights along the walkway. This not only enhances your home’s beauty but adds an extra layer of safety. For more on having a well-rounded safety approach, check out our previous blog.

4) Timeless Wreaths: Although wreaths are traditionally brought out for the holidays, timeless floral arrangements are trending. Complement your door’s new paint color and hardware finish with a floral wreath that has pops of color and fresh greenery.

5) Update your Doormat: If your doormat has weathered through the fall and winter, it’s likely you could use a new mat. Adding a new doormat doesn’t seem necessary, but if you have just cleaned and repainted your door, an old one will surely stick out. Add a new one to accentuate the updated entryway.

Whether you use all of these or simply clean your entryway, your home will feel more inviting. Stay up to date on the latest trends and safety tips by exploring out our previous blogs.
